Rosa: Hey everyone. This is Rosa Akino. You know, today I decided I’m going to be nice to Chris, which doesn’t happen very often.

Chris: Ah, ah, ah… Hi everyone Chris McVay here. And apart for my name, I’m speechless afterword Rosa just said.

“And apart for my name, I’m speechless afterword Rosa just said.”

“apart for”は”apart from”、”afterword”は”after-work”にも聞こえる・・・。

Onishi: So, are non-restrictive relative clauses using which frequently used?

Rosa: Yes, actually they are quite common because they are so convenient.

Chris: That’s right. I’m going to use a difficult word, but I think it matches perfectly they are so versatile, which means they can link with any expressions that come before them.

Chris: You know, just as a cook book can help you make excellent dishes, so our text book can help you speak excellent English.

Onishi: What does workout (is) actually mean?

Chris: Well, for me, it’s a kind of fitness training or physical exercises that although not exclusively usually we imagine happening inside a gym or sports club.

Rosa: That’s right. So, it’s more of like working your muscles not so much running.

“What does workout (is) actually mean?”

Onishi: So ah, what does hilarious mean?
Chirs: hahaha, hahaha…
Rosa: That’s hilarious.
Chris: That’s a hilarious question, isn’t it?
Rosa: Basically, it means really really really funny.
Onishi: And this word can be used for describing…
Chris: Yeah, it can be used for describing like a show, or comedy show, but also for people, right?
Rosa: People yeah! Chris is hilarious.

Onishi: Hey Rosa, Chris bought me a drink yesterday, which doesn’t happen so often.

Chris: Rosa, Hiroto didn’t buy me a drink yesterday, which didn’t surprise me at all.

Rosa: Well, you can’t expect miracles Chris.

Chris: That’s right.
