Roza: Hey everyone. This is Roza Akino. It’s time … for the review.

Chris: Already?

Roza: That’s right, Chris.

Chris: It’s Friday? Hi everyone. Chris McVay here.

So, get ready for the listening challenge and practical challenge, whew!

今日は先生のへんな前ふりが無かったです。^^;

Listening Challenge 1:00-

Monday

Roza: OK, everyone. Here is the question. What did the man not do?

  1. He didn’t change the meeting schedule.
  2. He didn’t tell the woman about the schedule.
  3. He didn’t go to the meeting.

Here we go.

Tuesday

Chris: Here is the question. Why did the girl think she passed the exam?

  1. Because the interviewer liked her smile.
  2. Because the interviewer said so.
  3. Because the interviewer smiled at her

Listen up.

”Why did the girl think she passed the exam” の passed を最初 pass にしてたのですが、ここが原形だと変だし先生の解説で「試験に合格したと思ったのですか」と言っているので passed ですね。

Wednesday

Roza: What did the man learn?

  1. The earth is smaller than Jupiter.
  2. The earth is bigger than Jupiter.
  3. The earth is as small as Jupiter.

Here we go.

Thursday

Chris: Which of the following is true?

  1. The man was surprised by bird droppings that fell close to him.
  2. The man was surprised by bird droppings that fell on his jacket.
  3. The man was surprised by bird droppings that fell on his head.

Here we go.

Practical challenge 8:05-

Roza: Hey guys, so, remember all the things you’ve learned this week and remember to relax and let the English just flow.

Chris: Yeah, mentioning flow, Roza, I think our listener should really listen to the music of English and try to grasp the rhythm and as you said the flow.

That would be really great practice.

Roza: Hey, Chris.

Chris: Hum?

Roza: So, have you ever had a farewell party?

Chris: I have actually, I had a farewell party for leaving my first school in Nottingham in England.

And the one, perhaps I remember most was leaving the school I worked in Australia. And I got some little tokens of the staff’s appreciation.

Roza: Uh ….

Onishi: What was that?

Chris: Well, you know, the staff knew that I was leaving in order to do a trip around the world, so they bought me a wonderful windbreaker and a great backpack which I’ve still got today.

Roza: That’s very sweet.

in order to: ~という目的で

I’ve still got today

I’ve still got today は I still have today で、「今でも持ってます」という意味。
